Giving habits

Date Try to provide an estimated date.

Why ask it. Shows how long each supporter has been with you. Compare new donors with loyal ones.

  2. How often do you donate to the organization?

    Single choice Required

    • Annually
    • Monthly
    • Weekly
    • Now and then
    • I no longer donate

  3. Are you able to choose what your donation is to be used for?

    Yes / No

    • Yes
    • No

Why ask it. Shows whether donors know they can direct their gift. Many No answers mean the option needs a more visible place, or doesn’t exist yet.

Trust in how funds are used

Three yes or no questions and the 1–5 confidence scale show how much donors trust your spending and your reporting. Watch the share of No answers from one survey to the next.

What to fix first

The matrix splits satisfaction into asking for donations, transparency, convenience and answering questions. The row with the most “Not satisfied” answers is the first fix.

Regular and occasional donors

On Basic and higher plans, filter the answers by how often people give to see whether monthly donors see you differently. Export everything to Excel, CSV or SPSS on any plan.

How to get more donors to answer.

  1. Ask right after you report

Share the survey with your annual report or a campaign update, when donors have just seen where the money went.

  2. Say what will change

Open the invitation with one line on what you will decide from the answers.

  3. Let donors stay anonymous

The survey asks for no name. Turn on anonymous mode in the survey settings so donors can be candid about how you spend money.

  4. Share what you learned

Publish the main findings and one change in your next update.
