Meta Pixel

Add Meta Pixel to a survey to track survey visits in Meta Events Manager and use them for Facebook and Instagram ads, for example to build an audience of people who opened the survey.
Before you start
You need a Meta pixel. Copy its ID:
- Open Meta Events Manager.
- Select your pixel in the list of data sources.
- Copy the pixel ID. It is a number, for example 123456789012345.
Connecting Meta Pixel
- Open the survey and go to the Integrations tab.
- Click Meta Pixel in the list.
- Paste the ID into Pixel ID. The value is saved when you click outside the field.
- Publish the survey. The pixel is added to the published survey only after you click Publish.

Meta Pixel now appears under Connected on the Integrations tab.
What the pixel tracks
- PageView: every time the survey opens.
- Custom events for survey actions: opening the survey, submitting a response, clicks on the welcome, Submit and thank-you screen buttons, and answers to questions.
All survey actions arrive in Events Manager as one event, CustomEvent. They differ in the content_name parameter. SurveyNinja doesn't send the answers themselves to Meta. With PageView, Meta receives the survey page address, including the parameters in the link, such as hidden variables.
To check the pixel, open the published survey link, for example with the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension.
Turning the integration off
On the Integrations tab, open Meta Pixel, click Remove and confirm. All integration settings are reset. Publish the survey again to remove the pixel from the published survey.
Limits
- A survey has one Pixel ID.
- Survey action events are not sent from the survey preview. PageView is sent from the preview too.
- If the workspace moves to the Free plan, the pixel stops loading on the published survey.
If something doesn't work
- No survey events in Events Manager. The survey wasn't published after you added the ID, or you tested it in the preview. Click Publish, then open the published survey link.
- Publish is inactive after you enter the ID. The button state isn't updated on the integration page. Go back to the Integrations tab or reload the page, then click Publish.
- The Pixel ID field is empty when you open the page again. The first value sometimes isn't saved. Enter the ID again and click outside the field.
- The pixel is still on the survey after you removed the integration. The published version still has it. Publish the survey again.
