  2. 2

    Make it yours

Name the product and the commercial in the questions, match the words in question five to your brief, and add a rule so people who don’t remember the commercials skip the ratings.

  3. 3

    Reach the viewers

Embed the survey on the page with the video, share the link in the post where the commercial runs or show the QR code after a screening.

  4. 4

    Read the scores

The 1–5 effectiveness rating, the words people picked and the comparison with competitors each get a chart. Share a read-only report link with your agency or export the data.

How to read commercial feedback survey results.

Recall and rating

Question two shows how many people remember the commercial, and the 1–5 rating shows what they think of it. On Basic and higher plans, filter the rating to the people who remember it well.

Against the competition

The comparison question shows whether viewers put your commercial above or below others in the category.

The message that landed

Open answers to question seven show what people think you wanted to say. Export everything to Excel, CSV or SPSS on any plan and compare it with the brief.

How to get more viewers to answer.

  1. Ask right after the ad

Put the survey link or the embedded survey next to the video, so people answer while the commercial is fresh.

  2. Say which commercial you mean

Name the commercial or describe its opening scene in question two. People then rate the ad you ran.

  3. Keep the open questions

The three open questions hold the reasons behind the scores. They are optional, and nobody gets stuck on them.

  4. Compare two cuts

To compare two cuts, copy the template once for each and put the effectiveness ratings side by side.
