As your customer
-
Do you buy the products or services of our company? If yes, how often?
Why ask it. Separates regular customers from occasional ones and from people who have never bought. People who have never bought end the survey here.
-
Which products and services of our company do you regularly use?
Why ask it. Ties the profile to what people buy. Replace the Product/service placeholders with your own range.
Who they are
-
What’s your gender?
Why ask it. The first line of the demographic profile.
-
What’s your age?
Why ask it. The age range of your customers, the first thing an ad audience needs.
-
What’s your marital status?
Why ask it. Together with the next question, it describes the household you sell to.
-
Do you have children under 18 years of age?
Why ask it. The share of customers with children, a key fact for your range and your ads.
-
Do you work or study at the moment?
Why ask it. Separates students, working people and everyone else. A logic rule takes students past the education, employment and income questions.
-
What’s your educational background?
Why ask it. Helps set the tone and depth of your messages.
-
What is your race?
Why ask it. Uses US census-style categories. Keep it only if your market and your plans need it, and delete it otherwise.
Work, income and home
-
Which of the following categories best describes your employment status?
Why ask it. Shows how much time and steady income your customers have, which shapes when and how you sell to them.
-
How much total combined money did all members of your household earn last year?
Why ask it. Household income in ranges, so nobody has to name an exact figure, and anyone can decline. Change the brackets and the currency for your market.
-
Where is your home located?
Why ask it. Where your customers live. Ask for a city or region in the question text if you want answers you can group.
