Workspaces (Folders)

Workspaces group surveys on the dashboard. They were previously called folders, and some buttons still use that word. The list of workspaces is in the left panel and has 2 sections: Personal for workspaces only you can open, and Shared for workspaces other members of your account can open too.

Creating a workspace

1. On the dashboard, click + next to Personal in the left panel (1). If you have no personal workspaces, the button is next to Shared.
2. In the Creating a workspace window, enter the workspace name.
3. Click Create.

The new workspace appears in the list. The number next to each workspace shows how many surveys it holds.

Renaming a workspace

1. Open the workspace.
2. Click the three-dot icon (⋮) next to the workspace name at the top of the page.
3. Select Rename.
4. Enter the new name and click Save.
   

Changing the order of workspaces

Drag a workspace up or down in the left panel. The new order is saved right away. The order belongs to the workspaces themselves, not to your profile, so other members of your account see the change too.

Moving a survey to another workspace

1. Click the three-dot icon (⋮) on the survey card.
2. Select Move. The Move to Folder list opens.
3. Click the workspace you want to move the survey to.

The survey moves together with its responses and settings, and the survey link stays the same.

Deleting a workspace

1. Open the workspace.
2. Click the three-dot icon (⋮) next to the workspace name.
3. Select Delete and confirm with Delete.

Important. All surveys in the workspace are deleted together with it, including their responses. Surveys from this workspace that are in the archive are deleted too. Move the surveys you want to keep to another workspace first.

Sharing a workspace with colleagues

To let colleagues work on the surveys in a workspace, give them access to it. The workspace then moves to Shared. See Team Members and Roles.

Limits

• The number of workspaces depends on your plan. When you reach the limit, SurveyNinja offers to upgrade. Compare plans
• Workspace names must be different within your account. When you rename a workspace, the new name must be 3 to 150 characters long.
• The main workspace of your account can't be deleted, only renamed.
• Move is inactive if your account has only 1 workspace.
• In a shared account, what you can do with workspaces depends on your role. If your role doesn't allow an action, SurveyNinja shows a message about it. Access is granted by the account owner.
