Tidying up the account
Sorts, archives, copies and cleans, and knows which of those cannot be undone

What it does
- Order without losing responses. A finished survey with responses goes to the archive, so the responses are there when the next wave comes.
- A plan before any change. You see the list of what is proposed before the first change, and nothing happens without your agreement.
- Live surveys stay live. The skill does not archive a survey that is still collecting responses, because an archived survey stops accepting them.
Example
You type
Tidy up my account: sort surveys into workspaces and archive the old ones
What the assistant brings back
- 6
- Archivereversible
- 12
- Trashrestorable
- 1
- Template
- 0
- Permanentnot confirmed yet
- "Delivery feedback, spring" and 5 more no responses since April, responses are kept
- 11 drafts without a single question last edited in February
- "Survey (copy) (copy)" duplicate of a live survey, no responses
- "Service quality" runs every quarter
- 3.4 GB of respondent files in archived surveys frees space, cannot be undone
Archive and trash can be undone, so they can start right after your "yes". Respondent files are deleted for good, so they need a separate answer.
The list above is an example. The real plan is built from your account.
How it works
- List first, actions secondWhen you say "tidy up", the assistant does not start deleting. It shows what it proposes for each survey and waits for your agreement.
- Tells archive, trash and permanent apartA finished survey with responses goes to the archive, where everything is kept. Drafts go to the trash and can be restored. Deleting a full workspace or files is final and needs a separate yes.
- Makes a new wave as a copyLast time's survey is copied under a new name instead of being edited, so the previous wave stays comparable. A recurring survey becomes a template.
- Leaves live surveys aloneBefore archiving it checks for recent responses: an archived survey stops accepting them.
Try also
- Copy the customer survey for the autumn wave into the "2026" workspace
- Make a template from the quality survey, we run it every quarter
What it will not do
- Do not delete permanently without explicit agreement
- Do not archive a survey that is still collecting responses
- Do not rename or move other people's surveys
- Do not suggest a plan upgrade or lead to payment
The skill works with your permissions. Tools that change data are marked, so you check what the assistant is about to do before you confirm. To cut access, remove the connector in the assistant or delete the API key.
In short
What can the skill tidy up?
It sorts surveys into workspaces, renames them, moves them to the archive or the trash, makes copies and templates, and cleans up account files. Finding what is abandoned and where storage runs out is the job of the Workspace audit skill.
What is the difference between the archive and the trash?
An archived survey stops accepting responses but keeps everything, and it does not count against the survey limit. That is for finished surveys. A survey in the trash can be restored with its questions, logic and responses. That is for drafts and duplicates.
Can anything be lost for good?
Yes, in two cases: deleting a workspace that still has surveys in it, which removes them with their responses, and deleting files. Both happen only at your direct request and only for a list you have seen. Respondent files cannot be recovered.
How do I start a new wave of a survey?
With a copy. The skill copies the survey into the right workspace under a new name, and the previous wave's responses stay untouched and comparable. If you run it regularly, it can become a template.
Will it rename my colleagues' surveys?
Not without asking. In a shared workspace colleagues look for surveys by their old names and in their old workspaces.
What do I need to use it?
A SurveyNinja account and an assistant that supports MCP and loads skills from a folder, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI. The MCP server works on every plan, the free one included. You connect with "Allow access" in the assistant or with your own API key.

Tidying up the account
Accounts get overgrown: a hundred surveys in one workspace, finished ones next to live ones, year-old drafts. Most of the tidying can be undone. A few steps cannot, and those have to be known in advance.
Reply to the person in the language they write in.
The tools and the app name things differently. What the tools call a workspace is the account in the app; what they call folders are workspaces in the app. Talk to the person in the app's words.
Picture first, actions second
get_workspace_list gives the account's workspace_id that almost every tool
below needs. get_folder_list and get_quiz_list show what is where. If the
person asks to "tidy up" in general, first show the list of what is proposed for
each survey and get agreement. A health check (what is abandoned, where storage is running out) is
a separate skill; this one does the work.

Three levels of "remove"
- Archive. The survey stops accepting responses, leaves the main list, and its public report links stop opening, but everything is kept. Archived surveys do not count against the survey limit. For finished surveys this is the right answer.
- Trash. The survey is removed;
restore_quizbrings it back with its questions, logic and responses. For drafts and duplicates. A restored survey takes a slot in the survey limit again. - Permanent. Deleting a workspace that has surveys in it deletes every survey inside together with its responses, and deleting files cannot be undone. Both need a separate confirmation flag. Offer them last.
A finished survey with responses goes to the archive, not the trash: the responses will be useful for comparing with the next wave.
A new wave of a survey
Do not edit last time's survey. Copy it with duplicate_quiz into the right
workspace under a new name, so the previous wave's responses stay untouched and
comparable. If the survey runs regularly, make_quiz_template turns it into a
template for the next waves; ask first, because the template cannot be removed
through these tools.
Workspaces and colleagues
A new workspace is open only to the account owner and to the person who created it. If colleagues need it, say so and hand over to access management; do not leave them looking at a list without the moved surveys. Two workspaces cannot share a name, and the main workspace cannot be deleted.
Files
manage_workspace_files with overview shows how much is used and by which
surveys; list shows the files themselves, filtered by survey and type. Delete
only on a direct request and only what was shown to the person as a list: a
respondent's file is attached to their response and cannot be recovered.
What not to do
- Do not delete permanently without explicit agreement on a specific list.
- Do not archive a survey that is still collecting responses: it will stop
accepting them. Check recent responses in
get_quiz_summaryfirst. - Do not rename or move other people's surveys in a shared workspace without asking: colleagues look for them by the old names and in the old workspaces.
- Do not suggest a plan upgrade or lead to payment. If a limit is hit, state the fact and stop.
More skills
All skills- Workspace audit Shows in one report where your workspace is losing responses, storage and attention
- Members and access Finds out why a colleague cannot see the surveys and grants exactly the rights they need
- Cleaning up responses Removes test runs and duplicates from your results and shows you the list before anything goes
- Comparing with past results Compares a survey with its own past, because one figure means little and a change says a lot
- A/B variant analysis Tells you whether the difference between variants is real or just noise
- Lead quality Counts the people who left a contact you can actually use
