How to make a poll in WhatsApp.
For a quick vote in a group, WhatsApp's own poll is enough. It takes a minute.

Open the chat and choose Poll
In a group or a one-to-one chat, tap the paper clip on Android or the plus on iPhone, then Poll.

Write the question
Up to 255 characters, with up to 12 options of 100 characters each.

Pick the settings and send
"Allow multiple answers" is on by default: turn it off so each person picks one option. You can also hide voter names.

Can a WhatsApp poll have multiple questions?
No. A WhatsApp poll asks one question with up to 12 options. For more questions, send several polls, or send one SurveyNinja survey link with all of them.
How do I send a survey to a WhatsApp group?
Copy the survey link and paste it in the group, or click Share, open the Social media tab and choose WhatsApp to open it with the link ready. People answer in the browser.
Do people need an app or an account to answer?
No. The survey opens in the phone's browser from the link. You need a free SurveyNinja account to create the survey and see the answers.
Does SurveyNinja send the survey through WhatsApp for me?
No. SurveyNinja has no WhatsApp integration: you share the link yourself in a chat, a group or a status. SurveyNinja does not send or read WhatsApp messages.
How does the link look in the chat?
WhatsApp shows a preview with the title, description and picture you set on the Social media tab under Share. The tab shows how the preview will look before you send it.
Are the answers anonymous?
A survey has no name field unless you add one. Anonymous mode also hides the IP address, country, browser and device of every response in your results.
Can people in the chat see the results?
Yes, if you want. Share the report with a public link on any plan and post it in the chat. It opens without signing in.
