Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code.
Every assistant uses the same server address. Pick yours.
https://mcp.surveyninja.io/mcp/v1 - In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, open Settings, then Connectors, and click Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, for example SurveyNinja, and the server address.
- Click Add, then Connect, and allow access in SurveyNinja.
On Claude Team and Enterprise, an organization owner adds the connector first, then each member connects it.
- Turn on developer mode in the ChatGPT settings. It is available on some ChatGPT plans.
- Create a connector with the server address and OAuth authentication.
- Allow access in SurveyNinja.
- Run the command in the terminal.
- Type /mcp in Claude Code, select surveyninja and sign in.
claude mcp add --transport http surveyninja https://mcp.surveyninja.io/mcp/v1 - Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects, or to .cursor/mcp.json for one project.
- Open the MCP section in the Cursor settings and sign in to the surveyninja server.

Two ways to connect.
| Allow access Recommended | API key | |
|---|---|---|
| What you need | Only the server address | A key from the API / MCP page |
| Workspaces the assistant sees | The one workspace you choose | All workspaces where you are the owner or a member |
| How long access lasts | The assistant renews it by itself | Until you delete the key |
| How to turn it off | Remove the connector in the assistant | Delete the key, and access stops at once |
You stay in control.
The assistant works with your real data, so these are the rules it plays by.
- The same rights as youWith Allow access, the assistant can do in the workspace exactly what you can. A key created in someone else's workspace gives its owner's access. The assistant can also change and delete surveys and responses, so read what it is about to do before you confirm.
- One workspace or allWith Allow access, the assistant sees only the workspace you choose. An API key opens every workspace where you are a member.
- Changes are markedEvery action tells the assistant whether it only reads or changes data, so it can ask you before it deletes or publishes anything.
- Access ends with your roleWith Allow access, leave the workspace or move it to a plan without MCP, and the assistant loses access to it.
- Request limitsUp to 180 requests per minute per user. Download links for exported files work for 1 hour.
- Answers go to your assistantWhen the assistant reads responses, they go to it like any text you paste into the chat, under its provider's terms.
Who it's for.
- ResearchersAsk for the themes in open answers and compare groups without building reports by hand.
- Product and CX teamsLaunch a quick pulse survey from the chat and get the summary in the same thread.
- AgenciesWork across the workspaces you belong to with one API key, and send each client a report link.
- DevelopersCreate surveys from Cursor or VS Code while you build the feature they test.
Three steps, once.
- 1
Copy the server address.
It is the same for every assistant: https://mcp.surveyninja.io/mcp/v1.
- 2
Add it to your assistant.
As a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT, or in the MCP settings of Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code.
- 3
Allow access and ask.
Sign in to SurveyNinja, choose the workspace and click Allow access. The assistant is ready to work.

Questions and answers
What is the SurveyNinja MCP server?
A remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at https://mcp.surveyninja.io/mcp/v1. It gives AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code more than 160 tools to create surveys, read responses, build reports and export data in your SurveyNinja account, with your own permissions. It comes with Premium and Enterprise.
Which plans include the MCP server?
Premium and Enterprise. With Allow access, the workspace you choose needs one of these plans. With an API key, at least one of your workspaces needs it.
Which assistants can I connect?
The guide has steps for Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode (on some ChatGPT plans), Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code with GitHub Copilot Chat. Other assistants that connect to remote MCP servers can use the same address.
What can the assistant change?
Whatever your role allows in these areas: surveys, questions, logic, design, settings, responses, tags, notifications and integrations. It can also delete surveys and responses, so check what it is about to do before you confirm.
Which workspaces does it see?
With Allow access, only the workspace you choose when you connect. To switch, connect again and choose another one. With an API key, all workspaces where you are the owner or a member.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
If you connected with Allow access, remove the SurveyNinja connector in the assistant's settings. If you used an API key, delete the key on the API / MCP page, and every assistant that uses it loses access at once.
Where do my responses go?
They stay in SurveyNinja. When the assistant reads responses to answer you, it gets them the same way as text you paste into the chat, and its provider's terms apply to the chat.
Are there limits?
Up to 180 requests per minute per user. Download links for exported files work for 1 hour, and the assistant can make a new one any time.
