eNPS calculation examples

1 50 employee responses

Promoters (9–10): 20. Passives (7–8): 15. Detractors (0–6): 15.
eNPS = 40% − 30% = +10 — good result for internal survey; eNPS benchmarks are lower than customer NPS.

2 Very high eNPS

Promoters: 70, Passives: 20, Detractors: 10 (100 total).
eNPS = 70% − 10% = +60 — exceptional result, rare for internal surveys.

3 Neutral team

Promoters: 15, Passives: 50, Detractors: 35 (100 responses).
eNPS = 15% − 35% = −20 — many passives and detractors, room for improvement.

4 Small sample (department)

20 people: promoters 8, passives 7, detractors 5.
eNPS = 40% − 25% = +15. With n < 30 interpret with caution; results can vary.

5 Critical situation

Promoters: 10, Passives: 30, Detractors: 60 (100).
eNPS = 10% − 60% = −50 — low loyalty, urgent action and qualitative analysis needed.

6 Comparison by department

Dept A: 40/30/30 → eNPS +10. Dept B: 60/25/15 → eNPS +45. Calculate eNPS per department to compare.
Enter promoters, passives and detractors for one group at a time — then compare teams.
